Hope in 2012

Dare we be optimistic as we look at the new year unfolding ahead? I want to look forward to a great year but much of life around me seems hopeless. What can I hope for in this new year?

Psalm 33: 18, 20-22 says,
18 But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear Him,
on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,
20 We wait in hope for the LORD;
He is our help and our shield.
21 In Him our hearts rejoice,
for we trust in his holy name.
22 May your unfailing love be with us, LORD,
even as we put our hope in you.
We are to HOPE in God’s unfailing LOVE! Our HOPE is based on the LOVE of God.

Psalm 37:4-7 &9 continues,
Delight yourself in the LORD; and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He will do it. And He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your judgment as the noonday. Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him.

These verses give us permission to have desires and hopes in our hearts. We don’t know whether God will give us every desire in our heart, but like an earthly father wants what is best for his child, our heavenly Father wants what’s best for us so go ahead and delight, commit, trust, rest, and wait in the Lord.

1Corinthians 13:77 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

If we rest in the Lord, our faith and trust will grow and we will find ourselves hopeful and experience the love of the Father, regardless of our circumstance.

Father God, we pray Romans 15:1: "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." We rest in your unfailing love to lead and guide us through this new year with hope in every circumstance. We dare to be optimistic for the next year and all You have planned for Faith Christian Academy and every individual represented as we collectively and individually delight in You, commit our ways to You, trust in You, rest in You and wait for You. We are so grateful for your unfailing love!!

Hoping in His Love,
