Foreign Exchange Student Kyu Ko finds “Faith!” Kyu came to FCA the beginning of his junior year and is now a senior at FCA. He came to us from When asked what was the biggest challenge about being at FCA his junior year, Kyu answered, “the Bible classes, since I had never really opened a Bible or learned about Jesus.” This year, as a senior, his toughest challenge is English 12, which focuses on British Literature. When asked what was the biggest surprise about being at FCA, Kyu responded, “the personal way in which students worship God and the many ways there are to worship God at our school, especially through small groups, chapels, choir, and in other ways. In When asked what is the biggest blessing about being at Faith Christian, he thought for a minute and then eloquently and simply expressed, “getting to study in this perfect circumstance” and “enjoying all the relationships I have here.” His absolute Kyu was also asked how his faith has changed while at FCA. He responded that it is so different now. Before he didn’t know about Jesus, but now he does. Before he wasn’t familiar with the Bible, but now he understands so much more about it. One of the most freeing truths he has learned while at Faith is that God promises to help him in all of his adversity, so he “can work hard and trust God” to help him through every tough challenge. Kyu is especially grateful for his host family, the Meys, who have become his 2nd family. This is reflected in the fact that he calls them Mom and Dad! Kyu would like to say to the FCA students: “Try to keep your faith wherever you go to college.” He would like to say to his FCA teachers: “Thank you for being such awesome teachers; it is not easy to teach in a Christian school for less money, but I appreciate you all!” Finally, Kyu shares his favorite Bible verse: “Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door shall be opened to you; for everyone who asks, receives, and he who seeks, finds, and to the one who knocks, it will be opened.” Mt 7:7
