College Guidance

FCA College GuidanceWelcome to the Faith Christian Academy High School Guidance Department! Our mission is to serve our students by promoting academic achievement, career development, and personal growth. The guidance team is dedicated to each student and works collaboratively with parents, teachers, staff and administration to help students mature mentally, physically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Our guidance program allows students to develop a relationship with their assigned counselor starting their freshman year. We assist students beginning the day they walk on campus to the day they walk across the graduation stage. Our goal is to guide students as strategically as possible through high school academics and the college admissions process.

The tabs to the right are explained in detail below:

  • Click the "ACT & SAT Test" tab to discover how to sign up for the ACT & SAT tests, how to study for the tests, and what makes each test unique and structurally different.  See how to access your free ACT Online Prep test.  Every student at FCA has an account and should take advantage of it.  When you are registering for the ACT or SAT test, you will need to know that FCA's school code is: 060-414.

  • Click the "College Reps" tab if you are a college representative and would like to find out more about Faith Christian Academy or would like to schedule a visit with the students at FCA. This section also includes driving directions to the high school campus, since Faith Christian Academy has multiple school campuses.

  • Click the "College Timeline" option to see where you are in the college planning process. Whether you're a student or a parent, the College Planning Timeline will keep you on pace throughout high school.

  • Click the "CO's 2 Yr. Colleges" or "CO's 4 Yr. Colleges" tab to be directed to the directories of Colorado's 2 Yr. and 4 Yr. colleges and universities. You may download the directory directly from the page or simply click on the links to be directed to the appropriate sites.

  • Click the "Important Forms" tab to download various forms such as these:  Transcript Request, Letter of Recommendation Request, FCA's Academic Profile, College Visitation, and College Readiness.

  • Click the "Meet The Staff" tab to see your counselors, find their contact information, and read their biographies. Students are assigned to their guidance counselor alphabetically by last name, A--L and M--Z.

  • Click the "Military Academies" tab to find the important information on all of the military academies' admissions, eligibility, and deadlines. These are some of the hardest schools in which to get accepted throughout the United States (and the world), so you need to start this process early in your high school career.

  • Click the "NCAA & NAIA Info" tab if you are interested in playing collegiate athletics. There is much that goes into playing sports in college even before you meet the coach or tryout. Check out the differences between NCAA & NAIA requirements and become aware of the timeline--you need to begin the process sooner than you may think!

  • Click the "Online Resources" tab to explore some of our favorite and most useful internet resources for the college admissions process. We encourage you to check them out and use them throughout your college search. Websites include links for college search engines, test-prep information, financial aid, college essay assistance, and collegiate athletics.

  • Click the "Scholarships" tab to research some available monies for college.  These are opportunities that have been sent to the FCA guidance office.  Remember:  your best resource is the financial aid office at your chosen college.  A power point presentation on completing the FAFSA form is also at this tab.

  • Click the "Tutoring & Test Prep" tab if you need a little extra help on homework, aren't quite understanding a certain concept in class, or just want extra guidance on preparing for the ACT or SAT test.  Improving an ACT or SAT score can mean additional college or scholarship opportunities.

  • Click the "Upcoming Events" tab to learn all of the FCA-sponsored guidance events, college fairs, financial aid presentations, college reps that are scheduled to visit FCA this school year, and the ACT/SAT test dates.  Test prep opportunities for these tests are also listed.
