Matt Hegarty

Matt Hegarty graduated #6 in his Law School Class of 2010 at Liberty University, where he also served as the Chaplain of his class.  He is now clerking for a Federal Judge in Denver. 

 

McCaslin, Jeremy

Jeremy McCaslin received a BA in Physics in 2008 from Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia.  From there, he went on to the University of Colorado in Boulder, where he earned an MS in Mechanical Engineering in 2010.  He is still at CU-Boulder, where he is working on a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and doing research in fluid mechanics. 

 

Zevenbergen, Kristi McFarland

Kristi Zevenbergen McFarland is a cum laude graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University (2008) in Shawnee, with a degree in Public Relations.  Her career in university support started at OBU in the Public Relations office.  Following that, she worked at Durham University (England) as a support staff member of the Social Studies faculty.  Her newest responsibilities at Durham have her working in the International Office as a university representative in Asia

 

Class of 2005

Cerf, Stephen

Stephen Cerf was accepted into The Boston Conservatory one year after graduating from FCA and having played the lead in Music Man. Stephen decided to pursue a career in Theater Arts, and moved to New York City in January of 2010 and was awarded a part in "Fiddler on the Roof." He then did a production in Massachusetts with a lead role in "Gypsy." Stephen is currently on a 10-month tour of the United States and Canada with a Broadway production tour of "Spamalot." He will be performing in most states throughout the year. Stephen believes that the Lord’s blessing has enabled him to achieve these personal goals thus far.   

 

Fisher, Raleigh

Sanders, Heather

Raleigh Fisher and Heather Sanders were FCA high school sweethearts who married a year and a half ago.  They now have a son, Liam Moses Fisher.

 

Raleigh graduated cum laude from CU in 2009, with a degree in Architectural Engineering and Heather graduated the same year, with a degree in English.  They live in California where Raleigh is finishing his Masters in Structural Engineering at Stanford University.  They hope to move back to Colorado after graduation.

 

Twedell, Erin

Erin Twedell received a BA in Strings Pedagogy (2005) from Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina.  She is now back in Colorado where she teaches music at both Beth Eden Baptist and the Silver State SchoolErin also coaches volleyball at FCA.  She plays violin with the Aurora Symphony and has started a strings class at an inner-city elementary school in Denver. 

 

Class of 2006

Allen, Ben

Ben Allen graduated summa cum laude from Colorado School of the Mines in May of 2010, where he received the outstanding Electrical Engineering student award his senior year.  He is scheduled to finish his Masters in EE in May of 2011. 

 

Lewis, Isaac

Isaac Lewis has been taking Jesus to the poor of Mexico for the past five years, and most recently, India.  This past summer he invested time traveling through India with a team of missionaries praying for the sick, seeing the Lord heal many, sharing the gospel with those who had never heard the name of Jesus Christ and seeing them enthusiastically accept His love and forgiveness.  This fall Isaac is pursuing a Masters of Divinity at The Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in  Springfield, MO, with the intent of continuing his work in full time mission work.

 

Thaler, Andy

Andy Thaler graduated summa cum laude from Utah University in Salt Lake City in Math (2010).  He also played in the symphonic band and the orchestra while he was an undergraduate student.  Andy is now working on a Masters degree and has an assistantship in the Math department at Utah.  Andy is engaged to marry another Utah student, Chantelle, who is from Salt Lake.  The couple will marry in Denver this winter. 

 

Zevenbergen, Leah Deal

Leah Zevenbergen Deal was in charge of the Art Guild at Christ Community Church, while studying Graphic Design at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley.  She did numerous graphics and visual art projects for the church’s sermon series and events.  She is currently working part-time for a small design firm and continues to volunteer at Grace Church in Arvada

 

Class of 2007

Zevenbergen, Matt

Matt Zevenbergen is a senior Mechanical Engineering student at Colorado State University.  His involvement with the FCA Robotics program provided him with experience that he used during his college internship at Wolf Robotics.  Now that he has graduated from the internship program, Matt has become a regular employee of Wolf.  He will finish his senior year at CSU, while continuing to work at the company.  Matt is also a member of the Army National Guard.

Morris, David

David Morris is another FCA grad who has a heart for missions.  He works with King’s Kids Ministries, a division of YWAM (Youth With a Mission), in their church-planting ministry.  David is pictured here with a Crow Native American.


Roche, Scott



J.J. Clark and Scott Roche named to Division III Capital One Academic All-America Football Team

Wheaton, Ill.Wheaton College seniors J.J. Clark and Scott Roche have been selected to the Capital One Academic All-America Football Team for Division III. Wheaton was one of six schools to have more than one selection to the team. This season, the duo helped lead Wheaton to an 8-2 overall record in 2011.

Clark earned Second Team Academic All-America selection at tight end. He is a History major at Wheaton with a 3.74 cumulative grade point average. Clark caught 16 passes this season, playing in every game at tight end for the Thunder. He totaled 163 receiving yards on the season, averaging of 10.2 yards per catch, with a touchdown reception.

Roche, a Second Team honoree and kicker, is a Business/Econ. and Geology double-major at Wheaton with a 3.48 cumulative grade point average. A D3football.com First Team All-North Region pick earlier this week, he made 13 of his 16 field goal attempts this season. He booted a season-long field goal of 49 yards at UW-Platteville. Roche has 40 career field goals and is tied for 12th all-time in Division III history. He is one of only 17 kickers in the history of Division III to have 40 or more field goals.

The Capital One Academic All-America program honors student-athletes annually who have succeeded at the highest level in athletics and in the classroom. Members of the eight First Team Academic All-District squads in each Division advance to the national ballot, where they have the opportunity to be selected for the ESPN Academic All-America Team. Individuals are selected through voting by CoSIDA; a 2,000-plus member organization consisted of sports public relations professionals for colleges and universities in the United States and Canada.

Through the years, 46 Wheaton student-athletes have earned a total of 61 Academic All-American selections through the prestigious program. Since 2000 there have been 36 Academic All-American selections from Wheaton.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at his/her current institution. Since the program’s inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 14,000 student-athletes in Division I, II, III, NAIA and junior colleges covering all NCAA championship sports


Smith, Sarah

Sarah Smith is a Senior at the US Merchant Marine Academy.  She graduates in June 2012 with a bachelors in Marine Systems Engineering.  She is in the process of applying for Active Duty Army for after graduation. 

  

Thaler, Tim

Tim Thaler is on the Dean’s List and is a junior at the University of Utah, in Salt Lake, where he is double-majoring in Math and Music.  Tim is in the Utah band and marched in the Sugar Bowl in 2009. 

 

Weingartner, Amber

Amber Weingartner is planning on finishing up her junior and senior year at Dordt College, a small Christian college in northwest Iowa.  She says, "I am thankful for an environment in which I can be challenged in my faith, enjoy lasting friendships, continue my education, and develop life-skills.  FCA did a wonderful job preparing me for college-life, and I consider my high school experience invaluable for academics, athletics, frienships, and my Christian walk."
