Faith Christian Eagles Baseball 2012 Season
Faith vs Kent Denver Faith Edges Kent Denver 3-1 May 1st In a well-played, snappy seven inning game, a rarity this year, the Eagles defeated the Sun Devils 3-1. Faith opened the scoring with two runs in the top of the first. Colby Smith led off with a base on balls, scored on a single by Alex Buchmann, who later scored on a rbi single by Stephen Galambos. Kent was able to recover one of the runs in the bottom of the first. Faith scored its third run in the top of the fifth. Isaac Henry led off with a single to left, was bunted to second by Emilio Carbajal, stole third, and then scored on an infield ground out by Nolan Beasley. Faith had eight hits for the ball game, but could only score three times. Buchmann was three for three, with two singles and a double. After the bottom of the first, Kent went down fairly meekly the last six innings. Tyler Tucker went the first five innings, striking out four and giving up only one hit. Danny Graves finished the last two innings, facing the minimum of six hitters. Faith finishes Metro League play at 13-0, and is 17-1 on the year. Faith vs Colorado Academy Faith Hammers Colorado Academy 16-0 April 24th Faith used a twelve run first inning to run away from Colorado Academy 16-0. The Eagles sent eighteen men to the plate and collected ten hits in the first inning explosion. They then tacked on four more runs in the top of the fourth to end the scoring for the day. Every starter got at least one hit, with Trever Wolf and Tyler Tucker each getting three. Tucker, Stephen Galambos, and Isaac Henry had two runs batted in. Ian Loffert pitched four scoreless innings, striking out five and allowing only one hit. Zach Larson pitched a perfect fifth inning, garnering two strikeouts. The Eagles clinched the Metro League Championship with the win. They are now 12-0 in conference play and 15-1 overall. Faith vs Denver North Faith Sinks Vikings 7-1 April 18th Faith used only six hits in defeating Denver North in a non conference game on Wednesday, 7-1 at Ralph Nance Field. Junior Stephen Galambos had a double and three runs batted in, and Senior Danny Graves added a two run home run in the third, to lead the Eagle victory. Graves also earned the victory on the mound as he threw three shutout innings. Colby Smith threw three solid innings, and Alex (Wakefield) Buchmann used his knuckleball to subdue the Vikings in the seventh. Buchmann had two strikeouts in the inning. Faith vs Englewood Faith Pummels Pirates 16-0 April 17th Faith used a nine run second inning in defeating Englewood 16-0 at Ralph Nance Field. Eight of the nine starters had base hits as the Eagles cruised on Tuesday. Shortstop Stephen Galambos led the parade with three hits and two runs batted in. Colby Smith added a three run homer in the second inning, and several players had two hits each. Ian Loffert continued his stellar pitching, delivering a one hitter while striking out five and walking none. Faith improved to 8-0 in conference play and 11-1 on the season.

Faith vs Holy Family Faith Sweeps Number 1 Ranked Holy Family April 15th Under gray, dreary skies at Ralph Nance Field, the Faith Christian Eagles defeated Holy Family twice on Saturday to take control of the 2012 Metro League race. First Game:

With the score tied at five in the seventh inning, Alex Buchmann, Isaac Henry, and Trever Wolf all delivered rbi singles to give Faith a 9-5 lead. Holy Family then scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh before Danny Graves snuffed out the threat. Trever Wolf led the hitting attack with a single, a double, and three runs batted in. Danny Graves earned his second win of the day with four innings of relief. He struck out four Tiger batters and gave up only three hits. The Eagles now are in first place alone with an 8-0 conference mark, and 10-1 record on the season. Faith vs Parker Lutheran Faith Slams Parker Lutheran 25-2 April 11th
The extra base hits included five home runs by five different Faith hitters. Alex Buchmann, Colby Smith, Danny Graves, Tyler Tucker, and Trevor Wolf all went deep against Lion pitching. Buchmann had five runs batted in, and Smith and Graves four each in the victory. Nolan Beasley also added four singles to the attack. Faith is now 6-0 in Metro play and 8-1 overall. Faith vs Machebeuf Faith Sweeps #3 Machebeuf March 24th
The Eagles pounded out 25 hits in only 9 at bats on the day. Trailing 1-0 going to the bottom of the third, Faith hitters exploded for eleven runs on eight hits to put the game out of reach. The Eagles sent 15 men to the plate, led by Tyler Tucker’s single, grand slam homerun, and 5 rbi’s in the inning. Isaac Henry and Nolan Beasley each had two hits during the contest. Tucker also threw a complete game, allowing only two hits while striking out ten and walking two. The win is Tyler’s first of the young season. Second Game:
Graves threw four flawless innings, giving up two hits while striking out five. Cameron Ricki threw the fifth inning, giving up two runs. Faith led the entire way in raising it’s Metro League record to 2-0, and it’s overall mark to 4-0. The Eagles next play a doubleheader at Peak to Peak, on Saturday March 31. Faith vs Prairie View Loffert, Ricki shut out Prairie View March 22nd Juniors Ian Loffert, and Cameron Ricki combined for a two hitter Thursday to shut out Prairie View 15-0. Loffert twirled four innings giving up only one hit while striking out five and walking none in earning his first varsity win. Ricki threw the fifth giving up only one hit also, in his first appearance as an Eagle. Faith scored in all four at bats, finishing with six runs in the bottom of the fourth. Leading the offensive onslaught were Colby Smith with three hits, and Tyler Tucker with two. Each also had four runs batted in. Tucker also slugged two home runs, and Smith one during the game. The Eagles also had four doubles and four singles. The win raises Faith Christian’s record to 2-0. Faith vs University Defending Champions Win 2012 Opener March 20th The Faith Christian Eagles began the 2012 season the same way they ended the 2011 campaign, with a victory. The Eagles defeated the University Bulldogs on Tuesday 6-2 in a game played in Greeley. Under a beautiful spring sky, Danny Graves earned his first win of the season while throwing five excellent innings. He ended up with five strikeouts, while giving up only two runs on three hits. Tyler Tucker came in for the final two frames, and gave up one hit while striking out four Bulldog hitters. Faith hitters pounded out fourteen hits in plating six runs for the contest. Senior Colby Smith had two hits and two runs batted in. Junior Stephen Galambos had three singles, while junior Emilio Carbajal, and senior Nolan Beasley each chipped in two hits apiece. The Eagles trailed 2-1 going into the top of the fifth inning. With two outs and the bases empty, Trever Wolf doubled down the left field line, Ben Rice singled him home, and two hitters later Beasley singled in Rice. Faith then wrapped up the win with three runs in the sixth. The Eagles are 1-0 on the season. Faith was in control from beginning to end in scoring a 13-3 victory in the opener. Eight of the nine starters had at least one hit in the win. Stephen Galambos had three hits, and three runs batted in to lead the attack. Ben Rice had three runs batted in, and Tyler Tucker two, as the Eagles finished the five inning contest with thirteen hits. Danny Graves came in and threw three innings of no hit, no run baseball to lead the Eagles on the mound.
After spotting Lutheran two runs in the bottom of the first inning, Faith Christian came back to score twenty five unanswered runs in its next four at bats. The Eagles plated eight runs in the second, and ten in the fifth, as they pounded out ten extra base hits in a twenty five hit explosion on Tuesday at Double Angel Field in Parker.
Faith scored in every inning in beating Peak to Peak, 16-0 in a five inning game. Tyler Tucker led the Eagles with two hits and four runs batted in. His two hits were a triple in the first inning, and an inside the park homerun in the fourth. He also picked up the win on the mound, allowing only two hits while striking out seven Puma hitters. Ian Loffert pitched the final frame, also garnering a strikeout.
Danny Graves threw a no-hit no run game in the nightcap of the doubleheader. He struck out 14 hitters while walking three. At the plate, Danny helped his own cause by doubling twice, and driving in a run. Colby Smith, Tyler Tucker, and Ben Rice each contributed two hits to the Eagle victory. Tucker hit his sixth home run of the young season in the bottom of the sixth, and Rice had two runs batted in, as Faith cruised to a 9-0 victory. For the day, Faith hitters plated 25 runs, while Eagle pitchers held Peak to Peak scoreless in twelve innings. Faith Christian raises its record to 4-0 in Metro League play, and 6-0 overall.
Machebeuf brought its 8-0 record to Ralph Nance Field on Saturday, hoping to be big players in the 2012 Metro League race. Instead the Faith Christian Eagles reminded them what it takes to compete in the Metro League. Faith came away with a doubleheader sweep, winning the first game 11-1, and the nightcap 15-2.
Faith scored 15 runs on 16 hits in the second five inning game of the day. First baseman Emilio Carbajal had three hits and two runs batted in, while Alex Buchmann, Colby Smith, Danny Graves, and Trever Wolf, chipped in two hits each. Smith also had 5 runs batted in and Nolan Beasley added 3 rbi’s.
